Picked up a 1994 Quad Z26

Post by Ryan Beretta 95 »

Its a 1994 Quad4 HO equipped Z26, Red exterior, Grey interior.

There is a spun rod bearing in the motor, so it is not drivable, although i drove it back to my house from where i bought it.

I dont really know what im going to do with it, i know its kinda rare and w/e..

I might put a new motor in  and drive it, other wise im gonna sell it or part it out...

So whats the deal with these cars, anyone know whats so rare about them?

the "rare" part is there were only so many of them made in 94 with the quads in them.  like less than 600 or something.  It probably won't cost a lot to put another motor in it if you can find one that isn't blown...but seeing as they only had a factory shelf live of 80k your going to have fun finding one I think.

But if it was me I'd just put a new motor in it.  Really what are you out?

ok, there were only 800 or so of them made in 1994, and thats a quad z26, so there for, though they made the z26 for 3 years from 94 to 96 and made thousands of them, theres only 800 that came with a quad 4 high output motor and a 5spd, and at 14yrs old, lets just say you got a nice peice of history right there, and rettagurl, its 93 that only 600 or so were produced, thats the rarist year for the quad z's. but that was the gtz's, and the 92 gtz's are the most desirable for there trannys.... i could go on with this, but i wont. lol. how far are you from pa?
the z26 is on the road!

I live in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Right across the border from Detroit, Mi.

Thx for the info..

I thought they only made Z26's  in '94, '95, and '96 though..?

That would be a great car for a V6 swap.  I'm convinced that in a '92-'96 that it would be easier to go from 4-cyl to 6-cyl than to go from auto to manual.

Why would you buy it if you don't know what you want to do with it?
Looks pretty clean.

Why? you ask!

Because I can...  "Why wouldn't I" is a more logical question.

Like retta gurl said, what am i out? whats the worst that could happen?

I just like beretta's i guess.

I think im gonna part it out, unless someone wants the whole car to save it and do a motor swap..

I just dont have the time with  working long days like i do, by the time i get home i just want  to crack a beer and chill out..

So check the for sale section if you want the car, or any parts..
