Cheapest place for new A/C compressor?

Post by IsaacHayes »

Well my A/C system leaks. Well, the compressor leaks that is, around the seams of the case. That's the only leak in my A/C system right now. Mine is a 94 which is a newer style and I heard they had a lot of problems with this leaking there. I belive this style is used on vehilces from 94-98.

Where's the cheapest place for a remanufactored or new compressor with clutch included (or not depending if you need tools to put on the clutch) ??  What is the P/N to look for???

If you are not looking to get it today, there are always some on ebay.
Just check feedback before buying, and watch for outrageous shipping fees.

from the napa catalogue at work
PN# 751239 on 4 cyl. it shows v5 comp.  $246.85
PN# 751213 on 6 cyl. it shows v5 comp.  $214.21
The difference is in the mounting brackets. Another thing to take into consideration is warranty, I know Napa, Advance, and Autozone. All have the policy that makes you buy the drier and orfice tube to get the warranty on the compressor.

Eric: Don't need one now, but will for summer. I did look on ebay but didn't find much except like one used one, no clue if it's leaking/miles. That's why I need the part number.

Tom: Is that GM p/n or napa brand? I probably will buy the drier and oriface tube just as insurance anyways. Unless I find a compressor on ebay for like 40 shipped I won't mess with it then.

I have the 3100 V6 by the way.
