93 3.1 oil presure problem

Post by stngds9 »

I have a 93 beretta with a 3.1 v6, my issue is that my oil pressure gage is pegged out. I replaced the oil presure switch. next to the oil filter. but after reading through the forum i am wondering if I should have put in an oil pressure sensor?

Yes if you have a gauge you need the Oil pressure Sensor, not the switch... The switch is for the dashes with ONLY a light so your new sensor only sends pressure or no pressure signal, Not an analog one to run a gauge.

Very true, the guys at the parts store gave me the switch. I was mad when I found out it didn't work and it wasn't the sensor.

Thanks for the help, Gotta love the Autozone people. Of course they are only looking at what is on the screen in front of them. It took me two hours to find the right part and a visit to three differant parts store. Cudos to the the guy at checker, he actually listened to me and after some researching was able to to come up with the right part.
