Re: cant find the leak
The old site had a water leak how to, but I don't know where it went. I can tell you that the water is coming in by where the wire harness goes in the firewall. The best thing to do is clean out all the old sealer and start over. That is a big pain in the butt, so I have not done it yet. I had some sealer from my old job for windows(it's kinda like strip calk, but better) and after cleaning up the area I got it sealed. You just need to be able to get something to stick on it for a quick seal. Roofing tar in a tube or roofing sealer doesn't work by the way. You might be able to use some windshield sealer, but be sure that the area is very clean. Make sure that the drain flap by the wiper motor is free to move also.

Gotta clean, and re-seal all the seams and pinchwelds on the firewall. It's a pain to get your arm in there and see it all. No way around it. Also seal the cowl area. Seal the pinch seam weld below the drain flaps. Take out the windshield wiper motor to get to some of it. Go from under the car, and arm through the tie rod holes.
Dont use silicone. I did use roofing sealer on mine, but it was a rubber neoprene which was very flexible, stuck to dirty areas and resists heat and cold. I think it was called black jack. There is probably better stuff out there from 3M.
yeah we need the old info back from the old site. I miss all the webpages. It had diagrams on where all the seams were to seal.
You will also need to take your carpet out, as under the rubber backed carpet is jute fabric insulation that will hold the water and stink. Take it out, wash it down with some anti-bacterial dish soap and let it dry, then seal everything, and then test before putting the carpet back in. I know it sucks and it's a big project but you gotta do it if you want it fixed.

Re: cant find the leak
check your door seals. I just bought a car where they were pulled out and leaking. I used some silicone and glued them back in place and then adjusted the door some to close a little tighter.

Re: cant find the leak
I have re-sealed my car like 4 times with various stuff, no joy. I suggest, and this is a giant project, removing the entire dash and hosing from the outside while you sit inside. It will take you forever to find it I bet.
At present, my cowl is rubbercoated ... it looks like it is made of plastic now ... still leaks. The area near the big power connector is re-sealed, and I put little papers that change colour when they get wet ... papers are still plain ... grr. Windshield is my last option, then I will resort to drilling holes in the floor.

Oh my this is hard. I had that before and can't find it myself. I resorted into going to a professional mechanic to check, true enough the leak comes from under my hood which is hard to find. I suggest if you cannot find it then might as well go to your trusted mechanic.
