Stainless IDI and Cam Cover bolts sets

Post by Asylum »

I posted this on B'Stuff as a possible Group Buy, however since then I have been having a devil of a time sourcing 110mm Stainless 12 point bolts for the IDI Cover and ARP will only make them if I order 100 (That is 25 sets!)

However I am experimenting on my car with bolt couplers and short studs to make up the difference to the shorter bolt availability.

As there is virtually no stress on the IDI Cover it seems to be working just fine.

There is no problem getting the 65mm 12 point Stainless ARP bolts for the cam covers, however they are STUPID EXPENSIVE! And Jegs and Summit don't stock them so wait time is a couple of weeks.

More on this when I get things settled down around here.

For anyone else that wants to dive into this you would need 4- M8-125 X 110mm bolts and 10- M8-125 X 65mm bolts. (that only does the cam cover bolts that are visable.)

Did you go down to nut and bolt supply on the south service road just east of fruitland? If they don't have them, or can't get them, they don't exist.

Yes there and Brafasco and several other wild goose chases!

110 mm Stainless only exist in Hex or Allen head and that is not what I am looking for.

YES it is 100% just for the look, but I will get this accomplished.

The coupler nuts will act as holders for short studs that will thread into the head and will actually strengthen the whole damn thing.

A little blue Loctite on the stud/coupler connection, have the coupler nuts sit flush/fingertight to the head with a little anti-seize, and then a little anti-seize on I think it's a 90mm SS 12 point ARP bolt that makes everything happy.

It will look AWESOME, and be expensive as hell. Figure $100 plus or so for the complete set up.

And except for the ARP Sticker, this adds ZERO Horsepower!
