car will not start
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong with my car if it will not start unless I have my foot on the gas pedal and when I take it off it dies right away!? Another mechanic had my car and said he adjusted the idle cause my car would not start, I had it towed to his shop. It ran again and he told me to put seafoam in the car and I used a half of can then my car ran for a few days then would not start again. I am about to get rid of it.
I have an 89 beretta.

Need to have the fuel pressure tested. On my 95, it started having starting issues, and turned out to be a bad fuel pump. Almost 400 bucks....

Sorry but I have to ask. When you turn the key to "on" and not start it does the fuel pump make noise? When you took it to the shop did they put a new fuel filter on? Do you know anyone that can come out to your house and change the filter for you?
Just be sure that the car has sat overnight before the new filter is put on at your house. As I said, I wish they never adjusted the idle stop. That could cause problems if you get it running again. I'm thinking about the fuel filter because you said it quit running after the SeaFoam was put in. Send me a PM if the fuel pump is making noise or not.
