Good point, This car was not at Niagara, But those pics could be due to someone not knowing how to set the date on their camera.

Re: Unauthorized photos - one and only 3500 intercooled turbo
Pics were just taken yesterday, so the date must be wrong. The car is far from finished, and will look alot better once I'm done with it. I have some big plans for that car. This is more of a lets put everything together, make sure it all works, get the bugs out, and then rip it apart to make it pretty. However, the car performs insanely well, I am very impressed with it, and I cannot wait to get some 1/4 mile times.
I'll give some specs on the car.
Stock 3500 (for now) with LS6 yellow springs.
2 front 3500 header style manifolds.
T3/T4 hybrid Garrett turbo
Tial wastegate and blow off
3 inch 304ss exhaust from the turbine exit to the muffler
10.5"x24"x3.5" bar and plate front mount intercooler
Getrag 282 with W41 gearset and 3.61 FDR
Spec stage 3+ clutch (starting to slip already)
Everything was put together by myself except for the exhaust welding, which was done by my buddy Richie. It was alot of work, alot of money and took some serious dedication, but it was all worth it to feel that turbo spool.

looking very nice. I would change out that 90* coupler by the driver strut tower and make a heat shield for that intake pipe going over the DP soon though. Are you running a filter? Very important.
I'd like some measurements of how close the front manifold is to the radiator. Did you do the 1/2" back manual fix in this car?

Re: Unauthorized photos - one and only 3500 intercooled turbo
I cannot change that 90, there isn't enough clearance as the hot side of the turbo is in the way. Theres other 90s in the intake track, they aren't going to affect anything. Heat wrap and a shield for the intake are on the way. I don't have a filter yet, but I will figure out something.
Theres lots of clearance to the rad, I can take a measurement this weekend. And if by 1/2" back manual fix you mean align the mounts properly, then yes, its all done. And its more like 1 inch, btw.

Re: Unauthorized photos - one and only 3500 intercooled turbo
Yeah it was a pain in the ass to locate the transmission side mounts. I had another car to take measurements from, but of course I rushed it and the rear mount is welded almost 1/4" too far forward. I was able to correct this (luckily) because I made my own poly mounts. Very hard to explain, but I am able to slide the metal insert farther over through the poly part of the mount, if that makes any sense. It bothers me though, and I'll probably re-weld that bracket to its proper location on the frame rail.wicked-irocz wrote:stupid automatics causing problems.

Yeah move the pass side engine mount back 1". You can cut and re-weld the black mount. Is that what you did? Get a top part on that mount too, it adds structure to it, I'm sure you know, but I would be afraid to get on it with that power without it closed up. It bends easily by hand without it. I bet you have a huge list of just little things to finish up, such as dipstick bolt that goes in the head, clean up vacuum lines, make it all look "factory", paint stuff.
That is my favorite part, after you have it running and it all checks out, you go back and get creative and clean it up and make it look good as it's in it's final spot.
Are you running the cobalt 2 bar baro sensor for the MAP? Or are you running megasquirt or something?
The exhaust must get tight in areas. I have 201 SS 2.5" mandrel (thanks to wicked) and what's crazy is SS expands more, my tips move out like .75" or more when hot!
I'm jealous, I wanted to do a 3500 turbo in my car some day... Same color as my car too.. waaaah
What future plans you have? Turbo cam?

Re: Unauthorized photos - one and only 3500 intercooled turbo
Yes, the upper mount has been cut and re-welded back 1". I forgot to put the top plate back on to be honest with you, but its seen 14lbs of boost and hasn't gone anywhere, LOL. Yeah theres a million little things to do still.. To be honest I haven't noticed the exhaust expanding much at all, I'll have to look closer next time its hot. Yes thats the cobalt 2bar baro sensor, and I am running the TGP $8F OBD1 code right now. I have everything to switch to code 59, and plan on doing that after I get some runs in with the 8F code.
Future plans are a totally built 3500, with some sort of cam. Car will be painted, with some special body work done. Interior will be getting a special treatment as well, but I can't give out my secrets.

Re: Unauthorized photos - one and only 3500 intercooled turbo
Just checking but do you have the right MAP, there was a 2 bar baro sensor and a 1.5 bar MAP/baro sensor on those cars....
A Z04 is pretty much perfect for looks IMO, but it will be interesting to see what you come up with.
Check where your tips come out of the bumper cold, then when ran good on a hot day at temp... It surprised me! And I was about to go crazy thinking the motor was shifting that much and couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the tips adjusted to stay in one spot until one day at work I looked at them every time I got in/out of the car and put it together that when the car had been sitting they weren't sticking far out. So I can now relax and not adjust them every single day to get them to be in one spot!!! LOL

Rodney, did you repin or make an adapter for the 7730 PCM? Or did you swap the whole wiring harness?
