Post by 91Beretta3.1 »

Just like it says I'm just wondering if I can make tighter because I have to pull mine up really far for it to start to even stop the car from rolling back. Can I do this? If I can can some one let me know how.thanks

Yes. Adjust the equalizer and it will tighten both cables. Most of the time the equalizer is in pretty nasty shape, but it's still available from GM for cheap. I just put a new one on mine. You will find it on the back side of the rear axle. Once you see it, it's pretty self-explanatory.

E Brakes are one of those "use it or lose it things".

You can try PB blaster or WD40 to free up the adjuster, or as Woody suggested, it's not an expensive piece as long as the cables are stiill good.

Both cables are inexpensive from Napa also.

I had a new cable & equalizer in my 95 a couple years ago and was not able to salvage them recently. So this time I used lots of anti-seize on the equalizer and threaded end of the pass. cable. Once I have it adjusted just right (I think I do now) I will wrap it all in electrical tape to seal out the weather. That is about the only thing that has worked for me in the past.
