Drop,Tint,Paint,Black out.
So, I was playing with my SCX in PS tonight while my Net was down. I'm getting better at that PS stuff...
So anyhow, I gave the SCX a drop , fixed the front lip, a black paint job and tinted heads/tails. I was trying to tint the windows too, but I still suck at that in PS.
This winter while the SCX is down, the motor and trans are getting pulled , a full bottom up build,LSD in the trans, new bushings in the shifter and a shorter shifter, full suspension job,and the motor is getting a special treat to go with it's build.
ANYHOW.... while I have the motor and trans outta the engine bay, I thought (since it will be winter anyhow, and the SCX will NOT be a winter vehicle) I would dolly it 3 blocks down the road to my buddy's body shop and have him paint it.
Now , my initial plan had been to go with factory color as I do like it. But after playin' in PS with it, DAMN THAT BLACK IS SEXY! Now , obviously IF I do a full color change, I'll have the jambs and under hood done as well. Some thoughts?
Also, if anyone is capable, I'm wondering what a factory style pinstripe in white or silver would look like on this black.... And also what the factory wheels would look like in a pewter or black finish with a polished lip. And if someone is REALLY talented in PS, LED or clear side markers. I'm leaning towards clear LED sidemarkers as they are only reflectors stock, not lights.
If they look good, I'll get Ace to make me up a set. I see no reason why , with wire and a solder gun I can't wire into the existing parking light harness and make it look factory.
Opinions? I'm including a pic of the tail end as well, so you can see what the tinted tails would look like.

It does look good in black, but the stock color is easy to see and more of a sleeper. Are you going to be able to the stickers if you repaint(W41, SCX)?

Yup, I have located a few places that sell OEM replacements. One of course, being GM Parts Direct.Money pit Beretta wrote:It does look good in black, but the stock color is easy to see and more of a sleeper. Are you going to be able to the stickers if you repaint(W41, SCX)?

Wow, I've been there looking for Beretta parts. They are listed, but hardly ever in stock.

Most of our parts if there are any left have been moved over to Vintage Parts Inc. You can get most stuff from there if you have a P/N and its not listed in the GM computers as available.

Thanks 3X00, I'm on that site sometimes but things are getting hard to find there too. Right now I'm looking for "want parts", not needed parts. I was thinking SGR should check to see if they have what he wants for sure.
