Temp gauge reads high
Temp gauge reads high
I own a 93 Corsica with a 3.1. Some Corsicas and Berettas with the 3.1 have a problem with the temp gauge reading high, due to the location of the gauge sensor (hot spot in cylinder head). GM created a fix for this problem, involving a newer temp sensor and a wiring harness (GM 12154414) to adapt the new sensor to the car. GM no longer makes the wiring harness, and I am looking for a schematic of this harness so I can make my own. Wife wants to use the car for work, but is scared off by the funky temp gauge. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Vintage has over 200 in stock.. Your local dealer should be able to order it, or you can order it directly from them.

Re: Temp gauge reads high
Thanks for the post. I found the harness at Obsolete Chevy Parts, and installed it with the new sensor (GM 10096181). The gauge now reads even worse than before. When the engine is at normal operating temp, the gauge is reading just below the red zone. I'm not sure what the problem might be, unless I have a defective gauge. So much for the GM fix.
