injector or computer??

Post by oldbike49 »

hi all! just saved a very clean 91 GTZ from the bone yard fro very little money because of this problem!got to be something easy....hopefully!ok,previous owner replaced head gaskets and intake gasket.got it all back together and it wont start.the car ran before.you can hear the fuel pump running,it has fuel pressure to the injectors, has spark and cranks over.plugs are bone dry.the wires and plugs have been gone over, nothing broke cracked or corroded.most of the obvious sensors have been changed,i know the owner, not bs'ing me.got the car for a sunday driver,or a parts car if this cant be figured out.hopfully be driving t on sundays though!!any help would be greatly appreciated!

Being its a quad, you should be able to easily pull the rail out with the injectors and turn it over to see if they are spraying at all. That would be a quick check to see if they are activating, next would be to check the wiring and be sure your getting the proper voltage. If they are the same setup as a V6, its a negative trigger that makes them open and close, so there should be 12v at the injector at all times, its just not grounded.

OR is this a 3.1L GTZ? if so the rail removal is a bit harder... but still worth a check.

Just for fun change the #1 fuse. It should be a 15 amp.
