Car shuts off
I know I'm not posting about a beretta problem so kick it off if you must but I'm not going to a nissan board. My girlfriends 93 altima started acting up about a month ago. It would act like it was starved for fuel for a second and then it would be fine. It mainly did it on hills. Then one day it shut off on her but it started right up. Then one day going up a hill I watch the tach go from 2000 rpm to zero and go right back to 2000. And it did that a couple times real quick and that was it. Now it just shuts off and won't start. Her parents solution was to go get an '05 focus. Now she has car payments and higher insurance. GREAT SOLUTION. I tend to think its a fuel pump but I could be wrong. I'm just wondering what anybody else thinks. Even if she would have dumped $5000 dollars into this car it still would be cheaper than the stupid focus. I suggested a beretta but everyone laughed at me. Anyway, any suggestions on whats wrong with the altima are welcome. Thank you for reading.

well, i do not know alot about cars but i do know the symptoms of problems i have fixed on my car.... When my car starting stalling on me and acting up greatly it would always start right up again and everyone though it was a fuel problem, so we changed the fuel filter, plugs, wires, EGR valve, coils and module and finally found out it was the crank sensor after the car would not start if my life depended on it. anywyas just my experience..not knowledge....
