My 93 GT
Well, as few of you know - I just purchased a 93 GT for a daily driver. It is a bit of a fixer upper, has some paint issues and body work needing done - but overall it is a pretty clean car and I hope to have it looking pretty spiffy before too long.
I just picked the car up on Friday the 12th, it has 110,000 miles on it. White on blue with the good ole 3.1 auto. I'm not looking for a performance machine, just something reliable that I can do all of the work on if necessary. This is going to replace the 98 Lumina LTZ I have been driving as I've decided to give that to my dad, it's a bit more of an older people car...
Anyways, on with teh pics!

Back in the day I never would have owned a set of white Xlaces, but these ones are already growing on me. I cleaned one of them up for effect:

Then, one of the main reasons I bought this particular car:

It has Rockers!!! And actually is rather clean underneath overall. I looked at a few Berettas before getting this one, including a black 94 Z26 and a red 96 Z26. For the money this just turned out to be the best of the bunch, the black one was a piece of crap and had been driven hard, and then the red one was just too much money. Currently I'm only into this car for $1100, the guy had been asking $1500 but I managed to talk him down a good ways.
So... I guess this will be the official update thread for this thing. I've already put a new upper filler panel on it, the one that was on it was broke, and luckily I had a clear spare. I've got a fender already pulled from my parts car, new headlights and tails, glossy 88gt lower trim, and some black Xlaces with snow tires that will be put on soon.
I'm thinking of cleaning the 3 white ones and then painting the one silver one to match for use with summer tires... but the idea of GTU wheels, or my spare set of 16 x 7.5" 8 spoke eagle wheels all sound good too... time will tell!

Looks like that car hasn't been in Iowa long lol. Do you have any mods left over from the other GT's 3.1 that you can throw on it?

Damn... My only guess would be that was an aftermarket fender that was NOT painted on the inside and it rotted from inside out. It's the only rusted part!

Re: My 93 GT
My thoughts exactly Jon! The paint on said fender is slightly off from the rest of the car, so I'm guessing it got backed into or something and someone did a cheapish fix. Luckily my parts car had a nearly perfect oem fender, and we mix paint where I work so I'll be able to get a good deal on some white paint to spray on 'er.
As for old 3.1 mods... not many of those are mine still. But, Dustin has my old 59mm RSM tb on a port matched 3.1 upper intake and I could probably talk him into letting me use it, and I've got a set of 3400 exhaust manifolds... But a big part of me just wants to make this car as nice and stock and quiet as possible, at least for drivability's sake. Although it will get some variety of intake modification.

Re: My 93 GT
for cheap you can always do the Mr. Mike intake box mod. That seemed to work.

I agree on the fender. Looks like one of those cheap non oem fenders, and was likely not galvanized.
Looks good! Love the pretty blue dash!

Re: My 93 GT
Kevin - I've still got the modded airbox from my 90GT that I plan on putting on it. Modded lid with a K&N drop in and aluminum pipe to replace the factory rubber hose.
On the drive back (from buying the car) I noticed the car had some wiggle in the steering so I suspected worn or a broken endlink. Well, I got the car up in the air to put my black xlaces on it earlier and found a new endlink on the driver side, and a snapped end link on the passenger side. So I went to town and got some Moog problem solvers with poly bushings and some new shocks for the back. That plus some better tires all around should help the car a bunch!

Re: My 93 GT
looks to be solid car for the most part other then the fender and the interior is pretty clean to for the most part. i would just do some handling mods and maybe lower it and leave it alone as you have the black car for the fun

Re: My 93 GT
Mod wise - I've got a z51 sway bar that will go on it once I get some new bushings, and I'd like to get a strut tower brace on it. Plus as mentioned, I've got a modded air box intake to put on it too.
Today I got the end links changed and my black x-laces on the car and did some misc cleaning on the exterior. Next stuff on the list are to install some new shocks and a donut gasket on the exhaust flange. With my discount at work a cheapo set of shocks was only $22 for the pair, I compared them against the mid-level shock and they seemed to be more stiff - so the cheapies it is!

ORLY?
Here's an a photo of my old 90GT's engine bay showing the modded air box intake that'll be going onto this car. Glad nobody bought it the several different times I listed it for sale.

Re: My 93 GT
Throw a cheap suede black paint job on it. (A good one, not rattle can like I've seen.) I think that would look tits! Although clean white looks good too on a Beretta. There's just something about the body style.
