oil pressure not working n then working out of no were

just when it says. i was driving down the road n all of a sudden no oil pressure. parked n checked what i could. waited 20 mins and left it was fine well it cut out agen n came back wile driving down the road 10 mins l8er ne suggestions ?

Your oil pressure sensor is bad, if you leave it go it may start leaking, but it's a cheap and easy fix.

no i mean the actual oil pressure my gauge works fine i lost all oil pressure going down the road....... and i herd the lower en knocking and the lifters clacking i need some help plz.

Oh, well then you most likely have a oil pump going out.

thats what i think to but y would it come back... n then go out n then come back sounds more like a wire but im clueless

hard to tell but it is.

the sensor is easy to replace. maybe try that and watch the gauge. If it drops again you know what else is bad.

So you don't know for sure if it actually lost oil pressure or if the gauge just told you it lost oil pressure? Usually when an oil pressure sensor goes bad it get all jumpy aka (works sometimes)!

So, what are the chances you have a bad sensor and no oil pressure at the same time?


None.

If you heard bottom end and valve train noise, you had no oiling taking place, or already spun a bearing.

well seee here is the thing it runs fine now my oil pressure was actually gone..... no oil was being produced thou there was oil in it.......
