abs light help

Post by BLADE »

hey guys I need some quick help. I have a 95 chev berretta v-6 3100,obd1,absIV . The abs light is on and I dont hear the abs reset at startup {clicking noise}. I had the master cylinder off and after I put it back on this started. I bleed the brakes and have good pedal. the light used to go off but now its on steady. could air cause this? do i need to get a code reader? If so where would I get one for this car. any help would be great thanks

Are all the connectors back together? Why did you have the Master Cylinder off?

Codes for ABS can only be pulled with a high end reader, Also no one sells OBDI readers over the counter at autoparts stores, you'd have to find one on Ebay or something. Even my Actron OBDI tool will only connect to the ECM so I had to go to GM get codes pulled.

Air will not cause an ABS code, but I'm leaning more toward a plug not connected or something.

sorrey guys I tried to check this thread but couldnt get on the site . I pulled the moter and tranny out. had to change the tourque converter out. 3x00 modified I think that you helped me get a torque converter with a higher stall. Over on 60degree site thanks for your help with that it runs great better gitup and go off the line. maybe i did it wrong when i pulled the moter and tranny out. the master cylinder is all plugged in electricaly. sometimes when i really get on the throttle from a stop the light will turn off for a few minutes. Im lost with this. I would try anything at this point. if all eles fails I might have found a guy with a code reader. if it was only a 1996
