88-91 V6 Motor Mount

Post by michi »

Some weeks ago i blew my front mount on my 91 GT, i already have a new one sitting here but dont have the chance to lift up the engine.
Now i was thinking about how do you guys swap them out? I thought about to lift the engine from underneath (oilpan), good way or bad idea?

Not a good idea on a 3.1. No problem on a 3100/3400.

I have used wood big enough to cover the whole oilpan, no issues.

If you look on the bottom of the pan you'll find an impression for a lift point. Using a block of wood on the jacking surface will aid in dispersing the stress.

Been done countless times and got the t-shirt.
