Re: Hybrid help
3100 bore is too small to allow for the 3500 valves to clear and the combustion chamber to fit. You need a 3400 to start with.
BUT you can however do a 3400 or 3100 large port head and intake upgrade, that will bring you up a few. If you want a bunch more power, your best bet is a 3400 with 3500 heads and cam, or go full 3500 and a cam...
It only costs money and takes a bunch of time so the choice is yours.

Re: Hybrid help
Before I do a 3400 swap I'm gonna convert this car to obd2 I know of a 96 z26 around my are that is all rusted out that I'm thinkin about offering 300 bucks for and stripping the thing to the bone and scrapping the car, and when I mean stripping it to the bone it's gonna be nothing but a bare shell when I'm done, only thing that dissappoints me with it is no gtz/z26 front bumper it musta been wrecked at one time I might just cut the whole front end off and save it cause at my work there's a 96 z26 that was hit really hard up front and just change the front end off the parts car, oh and guess what 3x00 it's the sane color as yours, that pinkish purple kinda color watever you wanna call it haha but that one is clean I mean clean no rust on the rear frame rails which is where they always go round here in the rust belt with the salt so that's a plus
