Did the board go down for a bit this morning?

Post by DTMAce »

Just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me... But I was unable to access it at all for a while this morning, kept throwing me to a domain parking page saying it was under construction..

:P

Any time I do anything major I post about it on the main page. I had changed out all of the ip addresses associated with the server to address some client issues with spam filters. In the process of that my registrar decided that it did not want to use my name servers for bnet and reverted back to their name servers..... which point to nothing but a placeholder.

If you hear from anyone outside of the board about not being able to get to it have them clear their cache, or just wait for their isp's dns servers to update.

I was actually going to say IP change, then I read the main page... LOL

The placeholder was defintely a sign that something got re-directed or was in the process.

One thing I always have issues with is with noobs signing up and then sending me a pm asking why I am already sending them nastygrams .... it all stems from that hacker we supposedly had and pm'd mass accounts. It needs to be fixed as it gets old linking them to the "stickied" thread that doesn't really bluntly explain it. Maybe just shot them an automated message explaining the situation. ??

Is there still something present in your outbox thats doing it?

Very odd that it still sends a message to a user that wasn't present when that happened.

Confused by this... your outbox still shows an item?

I emptied your outbox, see if it still does it, in theory it shouldn't have been doing it in the first place and you should have brought it to my attention before.

Its empty now. I did bring light on this matter in the past and was told to reference the stickied thread about it. After so long it just gets old having noobs ticked off at me for something I had no part of.

Will is referring to the fact that the message was still present in your outbox. Anything in your outbox means it has not been received by everyone on the distribution list, well before, now it just means the intended recipient hasn't read it yet. Mass PM is now disabled. The fact that yours was still there meant that it was continuously sending that message to new users, and just those who have been registered and are coming on the board again.
