how much are you willing to pay
Re: Anyone Planning a trip from US to Canada ??
If i can find someone who is already heading this way and willing to pick it up, im thinking $250-$300..
I can have it shipped i think for around $400.
But if someone was traveling to Ontario from there and has a truck they could make a few bucks and i would save a few.
I could meet up Around Toronto or 2 hours east of Toronto if someone was going that way, and i have a engine hoist as well so wouldn't be a problem to swap it in a parking lot or whatever.
One thing i have to find out .. if there is going to be a duty charge on it, if you travel to the US from Canada your allowed to bring back a certain amount worth of stuff. like 3 or $400 before they charge you duty, i would get a receipt from the guy for like $100. or something as a parts engine not running. its not like its a classical engine or anything special. strictly just for parts.
I was planing on driving down and picking it up myself but i was planing this going back last fall. and i never got around to going to get it, and the gas price now is just ridiculous and cheaper for me to just have it shipped and save myself 20 hours of driving. 10 hours each way from me.

I don't think I'm really up for tossing an engine in the car unfortunately. But I'll be in the area around June 11-23.

i was thinking about having him strip it too and just send me the internals and the manifolds and such that i need for the turbo swap, but the 3.1 L tgp engines had more nickel content in the blocks as well so would be a good idea i guess to have that block as well. sucks that its so far away and i have to cross the border to get it. i did search all over Ontario on classified add sites and couldnt even find a TGP car forsale or anything. they must have been made in US only or something. pretty rare to find one around here.
I was thinking if i drove down i would get a small trailer and tow it with the beretta rather then drive a truck and waste gas.
I could rent a U-Haul trailer if someone could tow that 1 way but the cost to rent the smallest one they have to bring it this far is like 200 bucks alone..
I think my cheapest option is to just have it shipped, i found a shipping company that promotes they are the cheapest freight carrier, i need to get a total on the weight of it to have a better idea of the shipping. a crate.. 2 x 2 x 3 and aprox 400 lbs is 350-400 for shipping, im not sure i need a crate 3 feet though i think the block is only 2 feet aprox long and 2x2 wide and high.
