Back In the Game
Hey guys!! Looks like I'm back in the game as far as Berettas go. So what have I been up to? I've been working my butt off while the Beretta sits in the garage and collects dust. The interior is literally a mess; spider webs and dust everywhere. It currently has a truck hood sitting on the roof as well as boxes and other junk. I told myself I was going to drive my truck until gas hit $4.00 a gallon. Its been near the $4 mark for a while, but just yesterday it jumped to $4.17. Looks like the car is coming back out and will be getting restored earlier than I previously thought.
First order of business is a battery. Then an oil change with some Quaker State Higher Mileage 10W-30 oil. I may as well flush the tranny fluid as well. Getting some new plugs, rotors, pads, shoes, and anything else. I'm buying the strut mounts so my Eibach and KYBs can go on. They've been in the garage since '07. All in all, this car is going to need some work, but I can't wait to get it done. I fell in love all over again with my car when I started thinking about getting her on the road. Its been almost 10 years since I bought her!!
For the people that don't know my car, here it is.

This is the other ride that I've been busy with. Just got my cowl hood installed last week. I finally get my truck where I want it and I have to park it. It blows.

Re: Back In the Game
Looks good, except for that chrome! haha
My 4L60E ate 3rd & 4th gear, so daily driving the Camaro until the Beretta is finished. So look at it this way, it could be worse. haha
Out of curiosity, what do you get more MPG with your truck? I get about 8 city, 14 hwy with mine, but I think that's with a wounded trans soaking up some of the power.

Don't flush the tranny, just have it drained, change the filter and fill her back up. Flushing can be problematic.
Nice to see you on the forums again...

get Monroe strut mounts. KYB ones tend to suck big ones after a while.

Yup Wanako, I've heard the horror stories about the KYB mounts haha.
To reply about the motor, its a 3100 with 284,000 miles on it.
Woody, I love the chrome trim on the truck. I don't think I could ever change it. I average about 13 city and 15 highway in the truck.

Re: Back In the Game
Well I went and bought a new battery for the Base today. Changed the oil and fired her up. It took a few minutes because the fuel lines were completely dry. The car hasn't been running since last summer. I'm surprised how well it runs now. Went and got registration and insurance today as well so she is road worthy.......sort of. The 17's are 8 years old and I think the tires are dryrotted so I am probably going to need a set of tires soon.
