1990 Indy Yellow horrid head liner

as the title says it is baaaaaaaaaaaaad. Most of it is handing down. The board is ok but the liner is shot. Should I just cut it off? Does the board it was attched to able to comeout of the car in one pc so it can be relined?
How is this issue typically handled?

If the board is still good, count your blessings. haha I couldn't find a headliner board anywhere that wasn't severely deteriorated.

the board is damp in places but it shoudl dry fine, nothing is warped, just the liner is got more hang then a 75 year old woman.

key thing for me is to keep the car out of water PERIOD till I can get it apart.
