PS3 Cheats and Hacks

Wow,where to start. This has spiraled out of control FAST with COD:BO in the 6 months or so since the game's release. I haven't AVIDLY played my Black Ops online until the last few weeks. Or any of my PS3 games really. Mostly due to a crappy WiFi ISP and the lack of interest due to the previously stated condition. But I've found if I get online late at night, I can get a reasonable ping...

Anyhow, prior to my PS3 I was an avid PC gaming consumer. As such, and as they are much easier for hackers to write code around for game cheats and constantly update such, they are a widely cheated at set of games. Unfortunately. Well, having run a few servers myself, and used Punkbuster I'm familiar with what to look for.

A guy staring at a wall and following it with his gun to the doorway you are about to pop through while not making a sound GETTING to that doorway. Someone running into a building you're on the second floor of well concealed and have done nothing to give away your position and he runs right up to your position and kills you without apparent concern to look for anyone else in the building and running right back out.

Watching kill cams to see someone obviously just off of target when they shoot and their weapon "snaps to target" right as they fire. Guys who are 27 and 0 on very small maps that are "nade fests" and almost consistently get head shots.

Etc, etc,etc. If you know what to look for (it's not hard, once you've seen it , it's VERY obvious to spot) you'll spot a cheat very quickly.

So, I was seeing this on my PS3 and thought "Nah, it's just me being paranoid. Consoles are one of the last vestiges of unhacked gaming out there. Surely , I'm not seeing "neon skin use" and "aimbots"".

So after a few frustrating sessions (I've always been a big fan of FPS and usually QUITE good at them. From the MOH series to the entire COD series) and feeling like some kind of noob, I got on my laptop and researched my theory...

All I can say is how sad.......................

There are more than a few aimbots and neon skin hacks among others readily available for PS3 now too! Punks! Apparently Activision is blaming PS3 and vice versa for the cheating. They've made a small effort at it, if you Google the recent mass banning of consoles suspected to be using hacks.

Also you can "report" players in game for "cheating". I dunno what effect these reports have, but it is there.

Consoles were our last hope to keep the games "even and clean" of cheats. Now I guess we're fucked there too....

GT5 sucks ass. I was extremely dissappointed with it. Any Forza game is better. They spent so much time on it, and yet all they did was re-release gran turismo 3 with better graphics.

I don't even have time to think about playing any console games... I have an OC'd SLI gaming PC hooked up to a 65" TV that receives e-mail.... LOL thats about as far as I've gotten with it.

I was on that night before last again, and only played about an hour before saying screw it and quitting for the night. Seemed like every server I went into had someone(s) cheating their asses off. The final straw was going into a server and going 0-27 thanks to some aimbotting homo spawn raping our entire team. He went something like 96 and 2. Second was like 47 and 4. Yeah, no fucking way that's possible without cheating.....


The good news is PSN released an update 3.65 with a VERY vague description. The last time they did this (update 3.56) a SLEW of hacks/cheats got their consoles PERMANENTLY banned. So I installed the update yesterday and got online last night. MUCH better. Still a few cheats, but quite obvious for the most part that most people were playing based on their own SKILL and not cheats.

At least they're trying to stop this. Black Ops, in a little over 6 months , for PS3 has achieved the dubious fame to be one of the most hacked games in gaming history in a short amount of time.

I don't find any fun in cheating at games like this. The kinda cheats I like are when you can make cars fly and stuff in GTA lol. Fun stuff, not cheating so I get a better record stuff. When they're old are they going to tell their grand kids stories of their "trick" head shots in Black Ops? lol. They need to get a life.

That being said, I'll add you on psn sometime with the same screen name I use here, but I don't play much on it right now since I got kinda bored of GT5. Cool game but they tried to do waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much with it, they should have focused more (coming from a huge GT fan lol). Been playing Forza now.

The only part of Forza I dont like is the way they did drag racing. Kinda lame, you gotta go to a separate screen to see your ET, no trap times/speeds, no RT, nothin. Just a win light.

The kinect integration with Forza four looks sweet, you can literally kick tires and check out under the hood in the car showroom.

On the topic of cheating, Mike, have you ever thought that maybe you're just a bad? haha

Nah, I'm not the greatest by any stretch, and my WiFi sux ass for sure making my ping horrible sometimes. BUT , I know the difference between a guy getting the upper hand in a gun battle due to better/faster internet/ping and a cheat.

Once you know what to look for it's pretty obvious. Just google PS3 and Black Ops along with aimbot or cheat. You'll find TONS of pages verifying what I'm saying....

And yeah I'm so glad I don't have slow internet anymore =P. Though I've never played a Call of Duty game in my life.

Yeah, I bought the GT5 Prologue and was SEVERELY disappointed. I won't waste my money on the full version now that it's out...
