my 95 base 2.2 odd problem

Post by Tylerlp »

Ok so there is a really weird code that my car is setting and I cant check the code because I dont have access to an OBD 1.5 scan tool. So, I was hoping you guys could help me out. Now my problem is that the car will sit for a while (about 10-20 minutes) and the radiator fan will kick on and the service engine soon light comes on...The odd thing is that the engine is running at about 200 degrees just like it should be and when you turn the car off and start it back up the ses light just magically disappears for another 10 or 20 minutes...so what do you guys think could be causing this?

You need to gain access to an OBDI reader... its not specific to OBDI.5... any OBDI tool will work, just not OBDII.

Without the code number then your just shooting in the dark and its pointless to do so.

I do believe that the 2.2 still uses the same old OBD I setup and never changed like the V6 did...
