paint restoration advice
my paint(white) needs work..........bad. it has chips, scuffs, webbing, swirls, and overall dead look. i cant afford to paint the whole car. whats the best way to clean and repair the paint after i repair the chipping with matched touch up?

Buffing is the only way to "repair" paint... But the issue is if the clear coat is toast then you wont be repairing it you'll be sanding it off slowly... The clear on a car is meant to protect the paint and when you buff it you take the top layer off to get it smooth again, so thats why i say if your clear is toast they you'll only be damaging the finish even more... it may look good for a little while, but it wont be protected.

Talk to Styluss (Ryan) about his poor man's paint job. hehe
His is painted with Rustoleum Gloss White. Looks pretty damn good for being painted by hand. Seen the car in person too, but he did a lot of effort and planning. There is a thread here someplace, but I'm too lazy to search for it right now.

yea i saw it in instructables.com, looked good for hand painting.
i'm trying to salvage what i can of the paint job. just taping and spraying a new layer at a local shop
