Tranny Noise
I own a '93 base with the 3.1L V6 and three speed auto tranny.  My problem is that i was doing some cheerios in this massive parking lot and now i have a ruff reverse gear.  I don't think it is anything serious because it works/shifts fine, but when i hit the gas it makes a really ruff growling noise.  It also does this when i park it facing down an incline.  I know that GM realeased a TSB about it but i couldnt find the thing.  Has anyone got any ideas as to the cause of the growling?

You probly wrecked or burnt the clutch packs or one of the one-way roller sprags even could of wrecked splines on shafts. when it makes noise gowing in park sounds like ur wear on the prawl gear (locking in park) in the tranny..

So basically a rebuild or a swap are my only options? Damn... Are those all reverse only parts because like i said the tranny works like a champ otherwise, and it's not an engaging problem or a running problem just annoying noise.

runner till it blow up!! use the parking brake or a block under the tire if it slips out of park. as for the noise try adding a thicker fluid like a lucus power steering fluid or tranny fluid leak repair..
