Hard start for 89 berreta when hot.
Hi guys, I have a 1989 beretta GT 2.8L that has a hard start and will just crank when car gets warm. So far, I replaced the IVAC valve, crank sensor and the ignition control module. Neither of these fixed the problem. My fuel pressure is good (filter was changed too) and so is my ignition and spark. When cold, the car starts up and runs fine. It's just when it gets warm it has a hard start. My mechanic nor a local dealership couldn't figure it out, there's no engine light or code either. Please help! Thanks

What was the fuel pressure and was it holding pressure after you turn the key on to prime and then turn the key off? You've already replaced the normal items that typically cause hot hard starts such as the crank and ICM... the next in line seeing its an 89 would be the coil packs themselves, but I cant see those causing a hard start. Typically when they go bad they will produce a really bad skip. One other thing to check is to Ohm out your injectors and make sure none of them get really high readings when they are hot.

I was told by my mechanic and the dealership that my pressure was good when I had a hard start. I have already placed all my coils in the past and the car seems to run good when I do turn it over, it idles normal. My mechanic check the injectors for a leak but there wasn't any.
I was told by another help forum that my fuel cap could cause vapor? I do have a aftermarket lock fuel cap on the car, perhaps I could put the original back on...
Do you think it's a possible computer issue?

You're not checking the injectors for a leak, but for an electrical short.
