hit and run

Post by rotten94j »

was woke up this morning to the news that my gf had been hit. she left for work this morning, stopped at a 4way, and was promptly hit by some chump in a 1500. shes fine thank god. he didnt stop-ran through the grass and just kept on goin. got his license plate tho.

the damage is as follows:

-driver headlight obliterated
-gen 1 ph 2 front bumper and bumper support ripped offa car, bumper cover destroyed
-fan and battery pushed outta whack
-core support bent
-hood destroyed
-fender destroyed
-radiator mount looks like spaghetti
-steering rack outta whack
-i think fuel pressure sending units messed up, fuel gauge keeps actin crazy
-radiator/condenser/fan pushed outta whack
-hood latch destroyed
-evap canister obliterated

im sure theres more, but this is the list so far. bright side- got an excuse to swap z hood, maybe diff bumper. kinda still in shock.

it still runs and drives absolutely fine, aside from the steering bein a little off. im just glad shes ok. shes beatin herself up over it because she knows how much i love the car, i cant convince her that she didnt do anything wrong, shes blameless in this, and shes more important to me than the car.

File a report for a hit and run... You got hit he ran, its a felony... he could be arrested for it.

Why the Air Filter set up like that? Just pulling the hot air right off the motor.

Because stock airboxes are the devil and even warm air set up like this is better than stock.

And all I'm goona say man is lesson learned... I hope. That and I'm glad she's okay!

Sorry to thread steal, but putting in a air filter like that over stock makes much of a diff that you can feel it in the pickup/driverability?

i did the intake at the same time i put new exhaust on (stock), and those combined made a definite difference in power and responsiveness. the old pipe was original and rusted to hell, so im sure that had alot to do with it. the filters just stuck up in the hose, if anybody readin this decides to do it BE CAREFUL, the stock hose is brittle and cracks easy.

started tearin it down, not much to report. was able to use a hand winch to take some of the bends out.... and i re ran my stereo wires and hood release cable. the cables not hooked up to anything, but i had it and i figured now was good a time as any.
