Could some one please tell me where the fuel sender ground is?I have looked all over by the gas tank. I guess I really dont know what Im looking for under there. It makes me feel dumb! Im trying to get the gas cage to work right, its in a 89 beretta gt. Its the cluster one. When I fill it the bottom half reads real bright ,but the top half is real dim.But then it never really comes off the half mark.So I always think I have half a tank till all of a sudden the E starts plinkn at me. THen its hold my breath and hope I see a gas station. No fun! it has the 2.8 v6 in it.Im thinkn its just a ground? Thanking you now.

The fuel sender for the digital cluster uses two grounds.  One wire runs from the sender to a splice under the doorsill by the driver's seat, and grounds in about the same place.  This particular ground can get fairly corroded and is actually used by several of the car's components.  The second ground for the sender runs to a splice in the dashboard harness that is used for a LOT of stuff.  It would surprise me if this one is your problem.

Thank you for replying. I will be checking this out later to night. But would like to know will I be needing to unhook the battery before messing with them if I need to splice? And then do the idel relearn again? It took me so long to get it running good Id hate to make it forget how to idel nice for me again. Thank you again, And will let you know how it goes.

Probably too late, but no, you won't need to disconnect the battery if you're working with the ground wires.
