Wierd electrical problems when braking...

Post by Guest »

Hey everyone.  I just bought a Beretta with a bunch of problems.  For some reason, when I press down on the Brake pedal, the dome and map lights come on.  What would cause this?  Also the Wipers wont work, and I've checked the fuses.  Any help's appreciated!

Wierd electrical problems when braking...

It's possible one of your doorjamb switches has come disconnected and the connector is grounding on the vehicle's metal when you stop.  Do the lights come on when you press the brake pedal when stopped, driving, or both?

I'm guessing you have only the Lo/Hi settings for your wipers since it's a Base model...correct me if you have pulse wipers.  Is the wiper motor plugged in?  If you have a hood light, does it work (make sure bulb is okay first)?  Does the windshield washer work?  Does the radio work?
