Hey scd88ga or anyone, engine plastics placement
Ok, got the goods in, thanks scd88ga. Got questions on how/where the firewall plastics fasten down at. See pic attched. There are two diff type of metal clips that I assume are for the firewall plastic. I can see on the inside of the plastic where two of one of the types of clips go. Where do the other two go? Also where does the top back of the two panels go? Under the rubber moldering or in it or what? In this pic, where do the two clips on the right in the pic go? The plastics for the firewall show only two places of clip whear and those are for the other two smaller ones on the left that I have figured out in the pics in that other thread I posted about later in this thread.

Also up on the front plastics. There are two little holes in the middle that have nothing in them, should they and what if so? Also the 4 spin down holders that I did get, thank you, do I spin them just until they are snug?

The red bowtie looks much nicer, thanks for the effort on that one.

On these pics, there does thefirewall plastics go in, tuncked unthere runner molding across the top of the firwall or just leaving that molding in place and jsut shove the plastics under it? And again still not seeing how the metal clips come into play with the two panels.

and it looks like the whole thing sits under the rubber that goes across the top of the firewall.

Re: Hey scd88ga or anyone, engine plastics placement
The firewall covers sit over the blower motor, center relays, and the wiper motor (under the rubber seal that goes across the top of the firewall).
From what I've seen, there are only 2 metal clips used on the firewall covers (I could be mistaken since my car doesn't have them, just going what I've seen in the junkyard). One clip on each side keeps the sides of the covers clipped to the "seam" that comes up by where the fenders sit.
On the front plastic cover, the right side on mine had one of the black plastic trees aligning the hole. The hole on the left side of the hood latch was open, mostly because that hole is larger from what I remember.

The other two metal clips for the firewall cover clip to the inner edge of the fenders closer to the firewall.
Yes, you will need a couple plastic push pins for the front cover, I didn't include any because all the junkyard ones are either missing or just break from being old upon removal. It's best to get some pliable new ones from the auto part store. And the 4 spin down holders just turn a 1/4 turn till snug.
I will see if I can get some pics to better help you when I get home a little later.

Re: Hey scd88ga or anyone, engine plastics placement
Oh yea you told me about the pin push downs, I forgot. I have some generic GM ones from the parts store I can use on that front plastic.
At thispoint I jsut don't see where the larger L shapeded clips go. One end has the clip, the other end is just a tongue if you will that sticks out, making the L shape of the whole clip.

So the L clip on to the lip of the fenders towards the firewall and the covers at that point just sit on them then I woudl think?scd88ga wrote:The other two metal clips for the firewall cover clip to the inner edge of the fenders closer to the firewall.

Re: Hey scd88ga or anyone, engine plastics placement
I do have to wonder if the 90 came with out this firewall plastic. I have a huge ass wire harness going over the brake booster that is sorta in the way as it lays. Few things to move around but it will fit and make the care really look a little cleaner.

Re: Hey scd88ga or anyone, engine plastics placement
Prob ganna hit Ebay with the car in the next week or so. I think I may catch more $$ for it from someone that is looking for this particular car and what I have in it as far as a COMPLETED car that is rust free with the documentation I have then just some kid around town here that see' another beretta that he thinks is worth 1k bucks (which it just may be).
