A year model would be nice as they got either the 3t40 up to '94 or a 4t60e after that.

Hence why I just put the website up because of the lack of info.

What 94 got a 3t40? lol Mine didn't.... 93 and down, 3T40/MPFI, 94 and up were 4T60e/SFI (for the auto's of all years)

Edit

With the exceptions of some quads mixed in there...

Just checking facts man... ;)

Yes, her car is a 95 base. I was texting her earlier about this and already found her a trans from a 95GA for $150 with 140k on it at a local salvage yard through Car-Part.com

Here's the interchange anyway.....
Any V6 Auto Trans from a:
94-95 Achieva
94-95 Beretta
94-95 Corsica
94-95 Grand Am

She posted this want ad AFTER I told her all this via text! lol

I told her the same thing about getting a trans locally. There are a ton around here.

Depending on when I park the car for winter, I'll be picking up a '99 trans either within the next few weeks or early next year.

I'd try and find a trans out of a 96. they have some improvements over 95. You might just have to swap sensors over.

There are no sensors that need to be swapped, but if you want your speedo to be correct you would have to find a way to put the tone ring from the 95 on the 96. IIRC it went from a 30 tooth to a 29.

And actually a 99 trans is the best one to use of them all, you end up with a 3.29 Final drive ratio, and all of the improvements over the year... That requires the same tone ring swap for a 95 and the side cover to be swapped since it may come from a W-body which wont have the 6bolt structural side cover.

I did a 99 trans for both Jason aka MAJ, and Ryan who lives out in NY.

Time and price is a factor, so her car has to be fixed as as possible for as cheap as possible because she needs the car for a delivery-type job.

If time and cost wasn't a factor, it would be getting a 5 speed swap, but thanks for the ideas.
