New Ride! W-body FTW!
So in case some of you have been wondering why i havent been posting all that much about my car, its mainly cause i got a new car and ive been enjoying the hell out of it. My wife and i discussed that it was time for me to let a car go and get something more family oriented since the baby will be here next month. So, the 91 W32 was the looser in this situation. So its gonna go to a new home and i bought something to replace it.
Found it at a local car dealer i used to work for so they made me "one hell of a deal" on it, and i took it home. Its a 93 Lumina sedan, base model, with decent equipment. It had the stock 14's, two-gauge cluster with idiot lights, full power, column shift and the creme-de-le-crop, the infamous luggage rack. It was also missing a mirror when i got it. Heres a couple pics the day after i bought it.

As you can all see, it had Grampa written all over it! So, naturally, i had to do something about it...

Re: New Ride! W-body FTW!
For having 154k miles on it, it runs like a top, and the outside was in phenomenal shape! No peeling, fading or bubbling, just some scratches here and there from where the previous owner raked against a tree and destroyed both mirrors.
So work had to be done. So i installed some Euro mirrors (metal, not the base model plastic ones)...

Cleaned the crap out of the motor...

Tinted the windows...

Installed a black Z34 steering wheel, grey bucket seats, center console and converted it to a floor shifter...

Ditched the wood grain in most areas and replaced it with Euro trim peices...

Re: New Ride! W-body FTW!
Changed all motor mounts, plugs, wires, chopped the air box, new fuel filter and fresh oil change. No pics, but you get the idea
Then came the facelift. I couldnt take the white wall tires, so i found a set of Monte Carlo LS wheels and slapped them on. Also found the same day, a trunk lid with no peeling or paint problems, that didnt have a spoiler or luggage rack...

Things i still need to do are oil pan gasket, trans filter service, rear spring pads, and brakes all around. Cosmetically, I have blank center caps coming this week, Euro full cluster, Euro fender trims, a Z34 spoiler and a full cleaning to do. I am gonna find a cleaner carpet for it (keeping it blue) and gonna change out the back seat to be grey.
At first the two tone looked a lil wierd, but im liking the color clash. Cant wait to get the rest of it done. So in less than a months time, this doesnt even look like the same car i bought in the middle of January.
I'll get some more pics up when i have the center caps installed and the spoiler mounted and both it and the trunk lid painted to match

Re: New Ride! W-body FTW!
The design of that engine mounting looks far superior to ones in Beretta.

And it is!
The torque struts actually have provisions to hold the motor forward while you do rear plugs. I did the rears faster than i did the fronts
It was nice! Two large mounts on the frame, one trans and one engine side, and the two up top there, and thats it. Cake walk

^^^^HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Good one. Those are impossible to find out here. They are all gone and if you find one, are picked over well before i can get to them.

Holy mix-n-match! haha You should get a white hood to match the trunk. I know you like the 2-tone look.

Yup! Actually, i would have painted it before it went on, but it started to rain the night i put it on. I would have left the other deck lid on, but the luggage rack was leaking water every time it got wet so i had to change it out for the storm that came blasting thru that same night. I should be able to get it painted to match and the spoiler on and paint matched this weekend

Yes! Another forum member has a Lumina, this is sweet!
Shall we drive our 4 door, daily driver Luminas to BerettaFest instead of our modded badass Berettas?
Haha! I'm liking the direction this car is going, right off the bat I knew you would switch the wheels - the hubs and steelies just killed the car before. Time to start a club, kick in 2000 style again, who else got L and W body cars up in herr?
