Group Buy for a Carbon fiber hood?

Post by DOHC_tuner »

I really want a CF hood for my 90' GTZ. I found this Cali company and they have listed $650 for a group buy of x10 buyers. Sounds resonable. Shipping of coarse would up the price.

Well who's in?

Here is the link.

It also means we have to get 10 people to agree on a hood type and be able to put $650 down in advance.

I love a 2" cowl on these cars. It's a timeless look and won't ever look out of style, where as the carbon fiber might eventually.

The price isn't bad, but $6500 is a lot of money in total.

Pass.

No money, no interest, and maybe its me, but I think this has been offered once before or something similar in CF.

650 each isnt bad for a true unique lightweight CF hood

Maybe not, but how many of us want to spend 650 on a hood plus shipping for a car that may only be worth that to triple that? lol

Not to mention having it fitted, mounted, painted, etc. You could wind up with a grand in that hood, once its all said and done.

Might have a couple people that have the desire, funds, and willingness, but not 10.

Mounted, Painted?

Installing a hood is easy....You dont paint over a good Carbon Fiber hood.

None the less going thru the website it seems fishy. The about us link is in some other language.

There has got to be some local Cali Beretta....???

Anyone know of a company that will make one?

I agree with Kurt. The initial setup and execution of getting ten people to cough up for this will NEVER happen. Hell, look at our group buy history... what was the last one to come to fruition?

Probably something I put together such as delrin inner tierod bushings... which were like 15bux, or the windshield banners, but that wasn't really a Group Buy.
