what makes the cupholders stick

mine only opens about half the time and when it does it comes out half way. i usually have to open and close it 2 or 3 times to get it out.

old dried up sticky soda... Take it out and clean it.

do those 2 screws hold just the cupholder in or does the whole panel with vents have to come out

the two screws hold it in and yes the two vents come out with it, there is a push in style clip between the two vents so you'll have to pull with some force to get it out after removing the screws.

Make sure to apply even force on each side of the cupholder unit so it doesn't snap in half on you while you're taking it out! And then yes, a simply spray down with some hot water from your kitchen sink will work wonders!
