KYB rear shocks, under $60US taxes in, carquest Western NY

Post by berettaboi »

i was expecting to pay a bit more with shipping ordered online, but was able to find them at carquest for just under $60 including tax. (8% in NY). called for the same part # with or without rear swaybar... i havent looked under yet to see if my sway bar (95 z26) attaches to the shocks or not... cant remember... but i wish i checked and pulled the one that likely was on my 90 gt (z51 im almost sure) parts car a few years back before it found the scrap yard... bought monroe mounts off rock auto for under $10 for the pair as well a while back

so happy to install them shortly, as my rear end is pretty unrulely as of late!

The rear swaybar doesn't attach to the shocks on any Beretta. Your car just has the simple internal rear swaybar, no external swaybar at all. Also your 90GT did not have a Z51 external rear swaybar, it had no external bar stock. So no worries on scrapping it, lol. Seeing as you have a 95+ Beretta, a Z51 bar wouldn't direct fit anyway due to the rear axle redesign (which sucks btw). Bummer right?

big bummer... i just dug into it tonight... that is a funny stock sway bar, that might as well be part of the axle...(is it even removable? not that i'm thinking about that... but curious) i'll scope out some other posts about add on sway bars... i'm going to end up making my own rear shock tower brace though, soon enough! wont be anything pretty, and will likely support a small dual 8" sub box in the rear deck somehow as well... still thinking about that one. i want the use of the folding seats still somewhat at least... a snowboard or a few 2x4's under the box from time to time

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe 94 and older bolted in, and 95-96 were welded in, so that would make your non-removable.

that's what it looks like, it's non removable... there's just a pile of crust on my whole rear end (that's life of an older vehicle that hasn't been undercoated it's whole life up in ontario here). sandblasting and some freshening up is coming in the next couple months.
