anyone into martial arts? i went to australia to train
i know some folks here are MMA/UFC fans so i figured i would share my recent trip. i went to sydney a couple of weeks ago for hand to hand combat training. i have been in martial arts for close to 17 years and this was an awesome experience.
we went over close quarter combat and adverse situation responses. i also got to work with some great MMA guys and picked up a few bjj techniques. we did some basic stickfighting and i tried to keep up during a cross fit class.
the crossfit was tough!
5 stations...with a minute at each station/ one min rest in between
station one....beer keg lifts
station two...pushup and crunch variations
station three...ground and pound drills
station four.....hindu squats and burpees
station five.....heavy bag
the kicker was after each full set one of the stations was changed a little to make it tougher.
my first day was a 12 hour session followed by a 8 hour day and finally a 6 hour review on day three.
the hand to hand routines were straight to the point, military style. IMO, a little sharper than the military combatives the guys get here in army. no offense to you guys that serve or have in the past
want to know the best part.....................
i got to talk about my 'retta
