If it's in pieces don't worry about measuring it.
Also, I can't speak for every Canadian, but I'm equally well versed in imperial measurements as I am with metric. I am aware of the metric system, but I think of my height and weight in feet/inches. The only reason I know what those are in metric is that they are on my drivers license LOL
I guess that's a side effect of being a mechanic/pop culture knowitall.
