Post by berettajunkie1991 »

hey when im slowing down i feel this popping in the floorboards and it feels like the right wheel, it does it when i stop or slow driving. or when i put it in reverse the car shifts like something pops in when i back up with the wheel cut to the left any ideas im thinkin a ball joint possibly the half shaft was replaced or could it be a mount. the GTZ has about 166,000 miles and it has auto trans.

I would check the CV (Constant Velocity) Joint. ÂÂÂ My left side started to do that. ÂÂÂ Does it make noise when you turn right?  Also does it pop like in Pop and thats it or is cont...

Then when you back up does it pop when you are putting it into gear or when you turn the wheel?

Sounds like the motor mount.  IF you replaced the whole right axle then the try and cv joints must be good.  Check the left one to be sure, just grab it and twist and see if it has play.  The motor mount is easy to check, have someone move the gear selector between R N and D wile you watch the engine for movement.
