1996 Z26 engine Swap
1996 Z26 engine Swap
I have searched all over this board and not getting a clear answer fast enough, and I am a little impatient.
Need to do a 3400 swap to my 96 Z26. What 3400 engines will work, work the best, and or the easiest?
I know that the 99 Grand Am would be easy, how about the 2002 Oldsmobile Alero 3400? Any other suggestions?
Who wants to bring one to my house?

Pretty much any 3400 will work fine. Shoot for a '99 if possible, better factory timing chains.

Do you still have the GTU in your avatar? If so, this will help too!

Yes I do. That one is already 3400 swapped. For the 96 Z26 I'm looking to go simple, easy, low cost. I found a 2004 impala 3400 engine near me for $500 that has 64,000 miles on it.
