Yup. I just regasketted my whole engine to get rid of the PITA oil leaks hopefully. We'll see how it goes...

If it's dry tomorrow I'll get a pic of the area. I'm fairly sure they did those gaskets along with the LIMG.
Also had another SES light today. Came on when I was slowing down to hit the toll booths, and went back off maybe 30mi later when I came to a stop. I need to get myself a code scanner soon. -_-
Or I can just abandon my car & walk a million miles every day to go everywhere. >.<

Your code symptom sounds like how mine used to be before I cleaned the EGR breather tube.

Re: My generic problems... (updated 3-30)
The thing is that I don't actually know that any of the codes it popped recently were related to the EGR. I was just assuming based on the scan done way back in August, and it seemed to be true since it stopped throwing codes as soon as I swapped the EGR. This new code could be the same deal, or it cold be something completely different.
So after somewhere close to 150mi driven yesterday, I was down roughly 1/2qt. before we left I filled it to the top of the hatchmarks, and when I just went out to check before going anywhere today, I'm about halfway down the hatchmarks.
Pics are below. I labeled them so you could get an idea of where you're looking. The first two pics are right about where the LIMG's meet (driver side of course).

Re: My generic problems... (updated 4-12)
definately the oil drive o-ring... that silver cap is just gushing oil out.
There is a oil galley that flows right around that part and if the o-ring is not in good condition which 99% of all factory ones are defintely shot by now... they will just leak up and go everywhere looking like a bad LIMG but its just that part.
Pop it out and put a new brown colored one in if you can find that type... GM ones that were better are brown... the Felpro cheap ones are black.
The little seepage on the bolt for the LIM well that could be coolant... I would double check by cleaning that all off and then seeing what comes back after the o-ring is replaced.

I could've swore the last fel-pro one I picked off the shelf was brown.. Either way, when I re-installed mine on my 2.8, I also used a distributor gasket for a small-block as a second level of protection.

Maybe they are brown, as far as the individual ones or the newer ones, but I remember ones coming in the top end kits that were black and those started to leak quick on me again.
The SBC gasket is a good idea also.
Felpro number is 70799 shows black on Advance website but that doesn't mean much,
and the sbc gasket is 70194 Right Cliff?

Okay, thanks guys. Seems fairly simple, unless I have to dismantle a ton of stuff lol. Are they a behind the counter part? If so, what exactly am I asking them to grab, name-wise... just an "oil drive o-ring"? Or is it just a regular rubber o-ring of a certain size I can just grab off the shelf?
Re: My generic problems... (updated 4-12)
It will be easier to get at if the throttle body is out of the way, but it can be done with it there, just tight.

I can move any easy stuff out of the way. I've got slim hands.

PN listed above
but its acutally listed as Distributor Mounting Gasket...
And the Small Block 350 gasket, just ask for a mid 90's distirbutor gasket for a small block chevy... or the 4.3L Blazer engines... But PN also above.

Sounds about right... It's been a long time since I've torn into a 60°V6 though.3X00-Modified wrote:and the sbc gasket is 70194 Right Cliff?

Re: My generic problems... (updated 4-12)
I'm going to attempt to tackle this tomorrow. I kind of lost my spot in the garage. While I was driving Will around to clients my dad loaded his current project car in the avail bay... and Will's retta is taking up the other bay. >.<
So hopefully the weather, temp, and daylight is kind to me. I get home at 3-4pm, and usually by 5 the sun is too far gone behind the trees/house. What parts can be removed easily/quickly to give me more room & light; parts not containing fluids?

TB isn't that hard to pull, lay it aside. I would do that. Makes it easier.
