Strange TCE TB woes

Post by Money pit Beretta »

It seems that the TPS harness is too short. Had to grind the throttle bracket on the lower stud. The cruise control cable is too short. Not sure, but I think the throttle bracket needs to move over more. The cable is touching the side at first part of the "lobe".

what part of the TCE products are you referring to? do you have the tps mixed up with the CrankPS or (CPS)? I didnt see the tps listed on the website

You need to post a picture of how you have this installed... When done properly it fits without a problem, but if its a 3x00 top end or engine swap setup in an old 3.1L car then yes there may be some other cable/wiring issues you need to resolve since your now expecting the 3.1 stuff to reach where the 3x00 TB is.

Yes it's a top end swap. The stock 3400 TB had no trouble. Really I'm not bitching, just think that there should have been a heads up. I guess lucky for me the 5v wire for the TPS was in bad shape anyway and let loose. I do have a back up harness that I need to put on. That will give me extra length.

By the way 3X00 thanks for telling me about the 99 Venture injectors. I bought the Delphi and so far it's running better than ever. Throttle response is up do to them and the big bore TB.

There doesn't need to be a "heads up" mine fits with no issues... Once again you should post a pic to see what you have going on. And I meant a top end swap on a 3.1L not 3100... since the 3.1 the wires and cables are different than the 3100.

It's a 95 3100, that's why I found it so strange that I had any trouble at all.
I'll see what I can do on a photo.

Yeah a pic would help the most.

You can see here that with the 3100 upper my cables were fine with my TCE.

Even with the 3500 upper it all fits fine.

You can see my rigged TPS wiring that got me to work and back. Didn't have time to clean the valve covers.

That is not a tce issue the damn wire wouldn't even reach a stock TB... You have something routed way wrong. Also the length of the cruise cable can be adjusted at the cruise box. That is if the cable is too short which once again tce changes nothing in that area.

Ok, but the it did reach the stock and the 3400 TB. It was rerouted to try and get it closer.
Thanks for the tip on the cable, I'll try to adjust it.

I bought the TB on sale. I swear that Ben lested it for a Grand Am, but I don't see how it would change anything.

the throttle body itself isn't vehicle specific the only thing that changed was the linkage between the vehicles.

it probably had the big plastic linkage that the grand am uses VS the metal that the beretta uses.

I'm wondering if the linkage is your problem... it looks different than Jon's (and mine for that matter).
