The 87-88 ones are different yet.. The inside of them are chrome versus matte silver. They have a slight round effect to the way the light shines.

The floor pan is the same as a 4th gen Grand Am (2 door for sure, didn't check 4 door), other than a very slight difference at the rear corners under the edge of the back seat, which is actually a different piece of metal at that point.

Is that random enough?

Yes, I believe 92 was an interchange year for some models (Beretta, Grand Am), that's when they switched from the Getrag/Muncie 282 to the NVGT550. I think all the SCX's were internal, but some of the Achieva SC's could have been external. Whatever! lol

Even if the front lights look all the same outside, some years include a glare protector for low beams, and throw completely different light pattern.

93+ egg crate grille changed the mounting location for bowtie, so earlier bowties cannot be mounted. Newer ones are bit more '3D' and the grille material is changed too.

Not all 88GT's had solid rear sway bars! (most of us should know this by now)

Also all 87-88's had wingless trunk lids standard (excluding the 88 GTU), a luggage rack was optional and really really ugly!

88 had plastic seat backs optional. Not sure on 87.

You're right and it's not that rare either. Look up external slaves for 3.94 trans years on RA and you'll find plenty of listings.

And on that note you can bolt up the stock dual exhaust from those GA's right to the Beretta. Holes are already there pre-drilled in the frame in the back :D
