I would only be a contender if I actually bought the Baer Eradi Speed rotors for a Camaro... Without having those I don't like having to spin all that extra weight.

Re: Failed attempt at installing brakes :(
I know as far as stopping power on my GT with the 13" Baers... I've done a 55 to zero in a shorter stretch of road than I thought possible - and with the harness in my car - it's enough to give you sore shoulders if you're not prepared.
Cliffy would be a contender, if he'd get in the contest. Which is terribly unlikely.

Back on topic, we've converted a couple older cars over to the newer brakes, and on both of the cars the older parts were in fine condition. Perhaps it's placebo, but in my mind the 92 stuff definitely stops better. One thing that nobody has mentioned is that the 92+ stuff has a larger pad surface area and a far wider selection of upgraded pads and rotors available.
I don't believe in drilled rotors in stock size, but slots to de-gas the pads and cut the glazing which is worthwhile. As are cryotreated rotors which are available in the 92+ flavor, but not the 91 and older style.

Agreed... I have only Slotted cryo treated GA Neon and Camaro stuff, so everything I use is the same.KFLO 93 GT wrote:I don't believe in drilled rotors in stock size, but slots to de-gas the pads and cut the glazing which is worthwhile. I think the biggest difference is the caliper and pad upgrade... And Weba you have that with your brakes, you've just decided to use the ever so slightly smaller rotor that is yes a bit thicker.
Re: Failed attempt at installing brakes :(
I did ebc pads when I upgraded, along with slotted rotors and braided brake lines.. was running autozone pads I believe. I dont know if there was a difference, car was down for a good 6 months when I did it so I cant really compare.
currently im running hawk hp pads..
guess what? they still suck. by far the worst stoping car I own.

Ever since i got a set of autozone rotors.Maybe 8 years ago or more.
I've used baer drilled and slotted rotors. It stops decent jon can contest to that.He did drive my car all week.lol
But yeah they stop well. And last about 70xxx miles each time.lol
I dont want my head to bounce off the steering wheel.
I would just like to stop better if possible=)

Re: Failed attempt at installing brakes :(
All I can say is, both my GTZs stock brake systems were recently redone.
The 91 has indeed not much pedal travel but needs strong force to be applied to make the car brake. Whereas the 92 bites aggressively and I cant say braking is bad at all. They do overheat quickly so I only race up the hill, not down.
