yes norm had 90 gt and those are the headers kurt has now if im not mistaken they had to be modded lil more for kurt to use them
Re: It's Geetee; and I have a GTU and a 3400 engine
I need to replace the suspension bushings for this car... ,was gonna go with Poly ones from Energy suspension. Anyone have the part # for the one I would need? What does the kit come with? I know where the sway bar attaches to the control arm, those bushings are completely rotten and shot.
Also need to get a kit for my 90 GTZ. Last I looked it seemed like they offered several sets, or is there just one that does everything on the car?

Norm's old headers, made by Steve Hamm for 87-91 v6 Berettas - fit right on my 3400 5speed combo and cleared everything.

When I had my 90GT Norm was a god to me. He gave me hope that I could build a nice 3.1. I joined here and then he moved on and I never got a chance to talk to him.

Re: It's Geetee; and I have a GTU and a 3400 engine
Got the majority of my parts today, most gaskets, AC stuff, radiator, X-pipe, and best of all, 3500 upper end.
Still waiting on Fidanza flywheel (got a good deal on it, couldn't resist), WOT TB adaptor, ac compressor, and other misc seals or parts. Going to see about getting the MRZ dogbone, and see about having my engine mount bracket made locally. Getting the chip from Superdave if he sends me his address of somewhere I can send him money and my Memcal. Then getting the Moates adaptor. Beyond that it's off to the junkyard. I took pics of 3500 upper end. I'm a little bit confused about this thing...

I can kind of see where the intakes flow better...

But can someone explain to me what makes the heads flow so much better than the 3400s? The ports almost look smaller on the 3500s, unless the difference is further inside the head. Why are the coolant passages so much smaller on the 3500? I just don't see where that extra 15-20 horsepower comes from unless it's all in the tuning.

The exhaust ports are still tiny, I might have my machine shop open those up a bit while he's doing them.

Rusty ass valve train. Not a good idea to use I imagine... Is the 3400 valve train the same?
Either way, I'm taking these to the shop Monday and getting this show on the road.
I went to that PST website but didn't find anything... I'm not a suspension guru and don't know much about the anatomy of suspensio either, what specifically comes in these kits? Is there more than one? I have brand new control arms, or is poly just that much better than new oem spec?
What I really need most of all is those sway bar to control arm bushings, they're completely shot.
And Woody, no I don't use lotion. Lol Maj's truck. Ahhh the good old days of being a stupid kid...

autozone has the energy suspension sway bar links for like $22 (that's for my 95 z anyways)

Re: It's Geetee; and I have a GTU and a 3400 engine
A lot more stuff came today but I got to thinking. I noticed on WOT tech there are EGR deletes, I know that it requires making a change on the memcal/tuning but I was wondering if anyone has done this? I know on Diesels it helps a good bit but was wondering what it would do in this application.
I saw that it can cause the cylinder temperatures to run hotter (corrected by tuning), but that it won't recirculate dirty air back into the engine. Doesn't seem like there were any power gains. If it's not a problem and does more good than bad I think I might consider deleting it instead of converting and trying to adapt it. What do you guys think?

Jon kept his, and we know that engine was built and runs good. I think its mostly more of a personal preference thing, than a performance help/hurt thing.

Re: It's Geetee; and I have a GTU and a 3400 engine
Deleting the EGR may cost you a MPG or 2 highway, but if you tune it out...that is the only downside. It's mostly just an emissions thing. I deleted the EGR in my truck and Beretta.

Re: It's Geetee; and I have a GTU and a 3400 engine
If you look on wot-tech you'll see the flow sheet number.
Stock 3400 heads and stock 3500 heads.
Then ported 3500 heads which i have.
I wouldn't have a shop hog out the runners.
You might do more harm then good.
If anything have ben do it or just leave them.
I have no egr and my car runs perfect.

I'm not sure that I like the sound of losing MPG, especially if there's no power gain.
What's the most common/easiest thing people do for the EGR on this swap? Haven't really found a straight forward answer/approach to that yet.
