No he didn't fill that one, he replaced it with a Billet version that I do not think anyone makes anymore...

I filled my trans mount the same way as that walk through, but that was a bit more exposed... And I used the same Shore94 stuff as him but I did not bake cure it... I just let it air dry.

Correct...that billet trans mount is no longer available. They were on v6z24 as a group buy.

I remember reading somewhere that for the 3500 topend swap you have to grind down the underside of the uim for some reason? What do the fuel rails not fit or something?
How did you guys install your energy suspension control arm bushings?

Re: It's Geetee; and I have a GTU and a 3400 engine
You shouldnt have to grind anything... the FPR comes close to hitting the neck of the 3500 Upper though, so just pay attention to that if your using that upper intake. Also I just used 1/16" thick or so washers to space the fuel rail up since the boss on the lower intake is just a bit shorter, you can just bolt them in but it pulls down on your injectors and could mess up the alignment making an o-ring leak.
Re: It's Geetee; and I have a GTU and a 3400 engine
Jon when you say added washers you're talking about the one place that the fuel rail bolts to the manifold? How many washers did you use? I am using the 3500 upper, I was just concerned about the grinding issue... everyone that has done this swap that I've read about makes a big deal about how you have to grind the 3500 upper to get the 01+ fuel rail to fit.
Quick question about the poly... Is a syringe or some type of squirting device able to work with or distribute the poly solution decently? I'm going to attempt to poly the trans mount (The trickiest of them all to do...). I figured the only way to do it though is with a syringe or something to neatly apply to the mount.

Re: It's Geetee; and I have a GTU and a 3400 engine
Well some pretty good updates. Went ahead and ordered a brand new gas tank and fuel sending unit, both were beyond repair or saving, and I wanted brand new anyway just to be on the safe side. Damn thing is though that the only place to get the sending unit for a Beretta with digital dash is from some place in Canada, and it's $80 just to ship it! (The damn thing costs just UNDER that!) But whatever, have no other choice.
I'll start working on the engine bay (cleaning it up) tomorrow.
I don't know if you guys remembered how my trans looked when I pulled it out, but here it is:

I CLEANED, and CLEANED, and CLEANED that thing... Pressure washer, purple cleaner... pressure washer, brake parts cleaner... pressure washer, purple cleaner... like all that x5. It took several hours to even get it looking this good:

It was one dirty bitch...
But after a little bit of taping up and such I think I got it looking pretty good now...

Got started on my intakes too:

They turned out pretty good I think.

But this was tedious...

But I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I think it'll add a nice touch to the engine bay.
Gonna get started on a few other peices in the engine bay too... Contemplating doing the block gold, and oil pan black... or vise versa... Errr decisions...
I get started on my engine bay tomorrow, cleaning it up and reinstalling the steering rack and such. I pick up my heads tomorrow too, the guy milled them .020 for free pretty much. Went ahead and ordered a timing cover gasket set, as well as an oil pan gasket, since I'm going to paint them and they should be replaced anyway since everything else has...
Anyone have any idea if Digital clusters are year specific? Not sure if mine is in 100% tip top shape...

Re: It's Geetee; and I have a GTU and a 3400 engine
Also did my mounts... God were they a nasty PITA... The 2 engine mounts weren't too bad to do, but the trans was a bitch, mainly because the poly was hardening up on me... It doesn't look so great but it'll be better than nothing...

Also have the MRZ dogbone coming... I ordered that crap like over 2 weeks ago...
Robert, how does your car ride with the way your mounts are? I'm expeceting it to be pretty rough, with vibration and such.
Also considering doing the same procedure on my Auroras engine mounts if possible... (But with much softer grade urethane, since it's a luxury car.) You can't buy engine or trans mounts for that car anymore, no where that I know of at least. What would be an appropriate grade material for that? Something in the 50's or 60's?

Gold? But it looked so good before you sprayed it! haha
Mine is a little harsh with the solid/poly mounts, but it puts the power down pretty well. What are you doing for the trans dog bone? That's where a lot of the resistance to torquing comes from.

It really looks better in person, these pics don't do the color justice. Yeah, when's the last time you saw someone tastefully do a gold/black theme? It'll turn out tits, I promise ; ).
For the trans dogbone I've got the MRZ one, so pretty much everything I've got is performance oriented on this car... I just wonder how shitty it's gonna ride...

Ok, so it shouldn't be much different than mine. It will be a little jerky on shifts until you get used to it, but it's very streetable.

Yeah i get vibrations....Every mount in my car is soild.lol
It's not that bad mostly my moonroof and the radio well the trim around it.
But i've never broke an axle yet in over 30ish passes at the strip.
My car had bad wheelhop until they got filled.
Now it just spins all over.haha

Re: It's Geetee; and I have a GTU and a 3400 engine
I don't think the vibration will be as bad as Roberts car since you do not have a solid trans mount, I know adding the poly will lessen the movement of the mount itself but you still have the rubber in there to absorb some of that vibration where the mount Robert used was solid aluminum with a hard poly bushing so all vibrations were sent to the frame. I know my car isn't as rough as Roberts and I have a billet dog bone on the passenger side, the upper poly insert on the passenger side and then I filled my trans mount with poly. Motor hardly moves but the vibrations aren't that bad.
