Z26 seat foam
Z26 seat foam
Has anyone tryed swapping the bottom foam from the passenger side to the driver side on the Z seats ?
i have a set tore apart tonight to try it. the only thing i see thats different is the inside hump is 1/8 inch higher measuring the material. i stuck the foam and cover together and put on the base but didnt put the wire clips back in just to try it, it doesnt look bad and i think it could work. just wondering if anyone else has tryed this and what the end result is..

Re: Z26 seat foam
Those cushions are the same as the Indy's and they have the same part no., so they are interchangable. Just a tip...before you put the cushion back on the wire grid, put some scrap material between them. This will help to stop the wires from cutting thru the foam.

Re: Z26 seat foam
It probably measured different because one was very worn.
Re: Z26 seat foam
this is what i think why the seat gets wore down...
the passenger side when you tilt the seat forward to get in the back seat there is a cable that releases the seat track so the whole thing slides forward.
Driver side does not have this.. i always put my daughter in the back seat from the driver side pushing the seat forward and leaning on it while buckling her in. if you go out and try this.. push the back of the seat forward and look at the side pockets on the back. it squishes right against the hump on the bottom of the seat.
Im sure alot of it is getting in and out too, but %50 of it is probably from pushing the seat forward all the time too.
My 96 driver side was pretty good shape when i got it a year ago, its starting to sag on the outside now but again its pushed forward and leaned against every single day a couple times if not more. just my thought anyways.
and thats cool the passenger side works for the driver side cuz i have a couple extra sets of seats.
Im going to see if i can use the seat track from the passenger side on the driver side and rig the release cable up, has anyone else tryed that ?
