roll-up windows

Post by #1 stunna »

Well my passenger window is messed up ... Its the rear run channel/guide that the window sits in. Anyone ever changed one of these? I cnt find it anywhere in the book . Ive been looking around the junkyards for a car to practice on but cant find one , it kinda looks like the rubber piece that sits just behind the channel pulls right out and maybe the channel has some rivets in it? Dont wanna screw mine up worse than it allready is though .

I do not clearly know exactly what part you mean but this is what i understand, The back of the window is held by the window seal (rubber around window) itself. The window seal has the guide inside the rubber so maybe it is the window seal itself. If you could take a picture of you pointing at it I will try to help.

You know the channel guides are adjustable inside the door on both ends right? You try adjusting the channels so your window stops popping out of it? I had to do this on the Quasar.

Like I said..... Did you adjust the channel guides in the door?? It affects how and at what angle the window rolls up and down.

Yes , i adjusted the front guide ...The rear guide is non adjustable from what ive read , their is a pc broken off the rear guide i believe , my main question was how to take the rear channel out ? does it have rivets in it or bolts ? Or does the rubber pc just pull out?

Most often when this happens the plastic guide tab the is on the window is broken, afaik they havent made an aftermarket replacement, so you have to replace the whole window. and the beretta power windows were ALOT better than other cars. the motors are very strong and worked quick.

Thanks yall ... I found out today the guide does just pull out ,( pc #5 in diagram) .... but its a pain and hard as hell to get out without tearing up the rubber pcs that are rivieted to the metal guide , I tore up two of em at the j/y :Yahoo!: lol.
Anyone who ever has this problem it May be a good idea just to change the whole door out . It COULD be replaced with alot of time and patience tho.
